Forget dark and dingy and think fun and functional. From home theaters to gamerooms to lounges, these trendy man spaces put a whole new light on how guys hang out.
Luxe Designer Michelle Harrison created the gameroom and adjoining theater room with clean lines and a neutral palette in mind. Plenty of seating is provided by counter stools, four grouped swivel chairs and a pit-style deep seating sectional in the theater room. “This client is an avid hunter but prefers a modern design when it comes to his home. The deer print fabric on the pillows is a fun play on one of his passions.”
The natural elements accentuate the dark wood tones in the masculine TV lounge created by Luxe designer Kristin Yannaccone. “This client wanted an up-to-date, yet traditional look while maintaining a cozy and inviting feel. The mix of textured fabrics, hair-on-hide leather and natural wood sculpture helped us to achieve this goal!” The office features woodland art on a metallic background created by local artist Angela Finch.
Moody Blue Bachelor Pad
The large living space was specifically designed to entertain guests and serves as a lounge, bar and music room. According to Luxe designer Kimberley Coulston, the client asked for a “transitional and approachably masculine” design. He made the mindful decision to not feature a TV and instead entertain with games, conversation and libations. Combining mixed metals, natural wood and concrete accent furniture with blue and gray upholstery pieces adds warmth to the space.
